Strange World: West Australian woman finds baby’s dad after Gumtree ad

A West Australian woman who became pregnant after a one-night stand has managed to track down the child’s father – and find love – six months after posting an ad on Gumtree.
Bianca Fazey, 25, made national headlines in December last year when, heavily pregnant, she posted the ad looking for ‘Jeremy from Morley’.
Ms Fazey confirmed to 9 Stories she has since managed to find Jeremy and that the pair are now in a relationship.
But as she respects her new partner’s privacy, Ms Fazey declined to comment further.
In January, the single mum gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Logan, and last month took to Facebook to share the exciting news that she had found his father.
“I am one lucky lady, to not only have found Logan’s Daddy but over a couple of months I have learnt he is an absolute gentleman, sweet, kind and already in love with his baby boy,” she wrote in a post.
“I am so proud and pleased to have Jeremiah in our lives he will always be his little boys (sic) Hero.”
She said Jeremy had made contact after seeing media coverage of her quest.
“I ended up finding him because of the story. So it actually worked and I would have never found him otherwise!” she wrote in a comment on the post.
But the contact came after Ms Fazey suffered months of abuse from strangers as a result of the ad and the media coverage.
“Unfortunately all I got was lots of judgement and idiots messaging me telling me they would be the father or pretending to be Jeremy,” she said last year.
News of a Canadian man who could possibly be the father raised Ms Fazey’s hopes in April, but they were soon dashed after the claims were found to be bogus.
The mystery was finally solved after the real Jeremy came forward and the pair were able to match the dates and locations involved.
