Historic Event in Reinforcing Democracy and Protecting Human Rights

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on July 21, 2020

Cabinet30th December, 2015 Kathmandu: Lumbini-Kapilvastu Global Campaign Global Coordinator Engr. Ram Kumar Shrestha handed over a 6-page report to the former Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda written addressing to US President HE Barack Obama, President of China HE Xi Jinping, President of Shri Lanka HE Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister of Japan HE Shinzō Abe, Prime Minister of the Netherlands HE Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of Thailand HE Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of India HE Narendra Modi requesting them to correct erroneous text books. Based on that document Nepal government cabinet made a decision and Ministry of Tourism wrote them through Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

LKGC Global Coordinator Mr. Shrestha wrote the report to reinforce the democracy in their countries through Right to Correct Information and to protect Human Rights by correcting erroneous information in their text books on World Peace Symbol Buddha’s birthplace.

Justification of Reinforcing Democracy:

  • One of the most significant roles to reinforce characteristics of democracy is the right to information. Over the past few years, the “right to information” has gained increasing prominence in the human rights and the democratic discourses. At the heart of the right to information are two key concepts:
  • The right of the public to request access to information and the corresponding duty on the government to meet the request, unless specific, defined exemptions apply;
  • The duty of the government to proactively provide certain key information, even in the absence of a request.

The right to information does not make any sense without having right information, however; citizens of these countries are getting erroneous information on World Peace Symbol Buddha’s birthplace because textbooks present incorrect information in this regard.

Justification of protecting Human Rights:

Human rights issue is very important in this epoch and, hence; this step was urgently needed to protect human rights of millions and millions people interested to visit World Peace Messenger Buddha’s birthplace as every year thousands and thousands people are visiting not the right place but the wrong one because of misinformation. They are misusing their time and money and when they know the reality, they cannot feel happy. There are lots of such cases. Read the rest of this entry »

Paras Khadka’s World Record

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on October 4, 2019

ParasParas Khadka’s this time achievement was not limited to Nepal and in fact was a world record. Khadka created history in a T20I against Singapore. He not only became Nepal’s first centurion in T20Is but also became the first captain ever to score a ton while chasing in a T20I.

Khadka reached his hundred off 49 balls becoming the fourth fastest T20I centurion by an Asian captain . He ended up with an unbeaten 106 off 52 balls as Nepal chased down the 152-run target with 9 wickets in hand and 4 overs to spare against Singapore.

The previous best by a captain while chasing belonged to Netherlands Pieter Seelaar who scored an unbeaten 96 against Scotland barely 12 days ago. Australia’s Steve Smith (90 vs England in 2015) is fourth on the list followed by West Indian talisman Chris Gayle (88 vs Australia in 2009).

Program: A Global Volunteer Program to fight Malnutrition
Among the Earth Quake Victim Children in Nepal

1Introduction: A destructive earthquake of 7.9 magnitude hit Nepal, ruining lives and destroying infrastructures on Saturday 25 April 2015. This killed over 8000 people and injured over 19,000. This huge earth quake was again followed by almost 300 aftershocks, which toppled homes forcing millions of people to take shelter into open spaces in temporary camps. The affected people of that devastated area were still in the panic, another powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 struck on May 12, 2015 just after two weeks. The situation darned gigantically and has become unmanageable.

Millions of people have been struggling simply to protect themselves from the sun and rain in the open spaces, surviving on stale, rotten and unhealthy food. As people are facing the aftermath of this disaster, the water supplies are running low and food is scarce. The risk of waterborne diseases is growing rapidly and thousands of children with severe malnutrition are in need of proper food and treatment. With the monsoons only a few weeks away, children face greater risk of disease and infection. Read the rest of this entry »

KATHMANDU — By his third day waiting for a helicopter, Namgyal Sherpa got restless. He had left Kathmandu last week with seven friends and 3,000 kilos of food — rice, lentils, instant noodles, salt, and oil — and hoped to deliver it to the village of Laprak, which is near the epicenter of the earthquake that killed more than 8,100 people.

“There wasn’t enough relief aid going to the village,” Namgyal, 31, told BuzzFeed News. “So we wanted to send supplies to Laprak not only because it was home to many of our boys, but also because it wasn’t getting attention like other places.”

Saugat Bista: Nepali boy seeks to be youngest film director (Video)

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on December 9, 2014

Film sets can be quite unnerving for children, but Saugat Bista is very comfortable in such settings. In fact he is in control of what happens in the studio or outdoors.

Saugat BistaThis eight-year-old from Kathmandu has already directed a feature film and has his eyes set on the Guinness World Records to become the world’s youngest film director.

A student of Class II at Suryodaya School, Saugat’s film ‘Love You Baba’ is due to be released at movie theatres across Nepal this December.

Once that happens and his claim is accepted by Guinness, he will replace current record holder India’s Kishan Srikanth who directed ‘Footpath’ (2006) when he was just nine years old.

While Srikanth’s film told the story of an orphaned boy who wants to go to school, Saugat’s venture deals with the struggles of father as he attempts to raise his 10-year-old daughter alone.

“When I asked my father if I could direct a film he checked online and found that a nine year old from India had already done it. That gave him the confidence that I could also make an attempt,” Saugat told a gathering at the film’s launch last month.
