Obama 2013: A Year in the Photos

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on January 7, 2014

The White House Photography Office picked out some of the best photos from the past year to give you an inside look at the presidency — and some of the best moments from 2013.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • President Obama singing Happy Birthday to First Lady Michelle Obama
  • Lots of Sunny and Bo
  • Visiting South Africa to honor Nelson Mandela
  • Some very adorable kids with the President

[Celebrity’s every word, moment and activity could be news and subject for debate and discussion. US President’s most of the activities could have global value and meaning. In 2013 Obama was sworn in for a second term and I would like to share the photos highlighting President Obama’s 2013 activities that  I received two hours ago  from White House.

After writing letter to President Obama  on American shoe company issue with Buddha photos on shoes, I regularly receive emails from White House.]

Hank Crumpton, Former CIA Officer: Clinton Wouldn’t Authorize Osama Bin Laden Kill In 1999

Hank Crumpton

Hank Crumpton, a former CIA officer and top counterterrorism official, said in arecent interview that President Bill Clinton’s White House missed a golden opportunity to take out terrorist leader Osama bin Laden in 1999.

Bin Laden was in Afghanistan in 1999, Crumpton told CBS’s “60 Minutes” in a segment that aired on Sunday. His convoy had been clearly identified by an early edition Predator drone, which at the time didn’t have weapons capabilities.

“We saw a security detail, a convoy, and we saw bin Laden exit the vehicle, clearly,” Crumpton told CBS’s Lara Logan, describing aerial images captured by a drone flying somewhere outside of Kandahar. “The optics were spot in, it was beaming back to us, CIA headquarters. We immediately alerted the White House, and the Clinton administration’s response was, ‘Well, it will take several hours for the TLAMs, the cruise missiles launched from submarines, to reach that objective. So, you need to tell us where bin Laden will be five or six hours from now.’ The frustration was enormous.” Read the rest of this entry »

Will the Washington Bomb Plot Force Obama into War with Iran?

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on October 14, 2011

By Tony Karon

“We are not talking to Iran, so we don’t understand each other,” outgoing Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen told the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace last month. “If something happens, it’s virtually assured that we won’t get it right — that there will be miscalculation, which could be extremely dangerous in that part of the world.”

Mullen’s warning of the perils arising from the two sides’ inability to communicate and understand each other’s intentions — “Even in the darkest days of the Cold War, we had links to the Soviet Union” — seems especially prescient amid the fallout from the alleged plot to kill the Saudi ambassador to Washington, blamed by the U.S. on “elements of the Iranian government.” Claims that officials within the elite Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps initiated a bizarre scheme via an Iranian-American used-car salesman — described by his former business partner as “a sort of hustler” — to enlist the services of a Mexican drug gang for a terrorism strike in the U.S. capital have been seized on by the Administration to press for tougher international action against Tehran.

“We see this as a chance to go out to capitals and around the world and talk to allies and partners about what the Iranians tried to do,” an unnamed official told the Washington Post. “We’re going to use this to isolate them to the maximum extent possible.” Vice President Joe Biden added, darkly, that when it came to responding to Iran’s behavior, “nothing has been taken off the table.” Read the rest of this entry »
