Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on January 7, 2014

The White House Photography Office picked out some of the best photos from the past year to give you an inside look at the presidency — and some of the best moments from 2013.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • President Obama singing Happy Birthday to First Lady Michelle Obama
  • Lots of Sunny and Bo
  • Visiting South Africa to honor Nelson Mandela
  • Some very adorable kids with the President

[Celebrity’s every word, moment and activity could be news and subject for debate and discussion. US President’s most of the activities could have global value and meaning. In 2013 Obama was sworn in for a second term and I would like to share the photos highlighting President Obama’s 2013 activities that  I received two hours ago  from White House.

After writing letter to President Obama  on American shoe company issue with Buddha photos on shoes, I regularly receive emails from White House.]

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on September 6, 2012

By JULIE PACE, ASSOCIATED PRESS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Michelle Obama’s message: President Barack Obama is just like you.

“Barack knows the American Dream because he’s lived it,” the first lady told the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday in an address intended to reassure voters that her husband share their values – hard work, perseverance and optimism – while also drawing a contrast between him and Mitt Romney.

Mrs. Obama never mentioned the president’s Republican challenger, who grew up in a world of privilege and wealth. Read the rest of this entry »

Michelle Obama Speech: Being President ‘Reveals Who You Are’

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on September 6, 2012

By  and

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Michelle Obama was the overwhelming star of Tuesday night’s Democratic National Convention, delivering a powerful personal narrative about her husband still being the same deeply principled man she fell in love with 23 years ago when they were both broke and watching their families struggle.

Obama’s speech contrasted with barnburners from the rest of the night, which attacked GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney on everything from his Swiss bank accounts to flip-flopping on abortion. But the first lady’s remarks also touched on the message that others, including the keynote speaker, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, made earlier: Struggle and success aren’t just Republican ideals, and there’s nothing un-American about getting help.

Obama’s speech, like Ann Romney’s at the Republican National Convention last week, focused on her relationship with a candidate that she knows as a husband and a father. But while Romney’s talk of saving money by eating tuna and pasta fell flat, Obama’s stories of student loan debt and family hardships made for a more convincing case that they can relate to middle-class struggles. Michelle Obama’s ‘Daily Show’ Appearance: First Lady Discusses President’s Past, Joe Biden (VIDEO)

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on June 1, 2012

Michelle Obama Daily Show

First Lady Michelle Obama weighed in on recent revelations about her husband’s past drug use on Tuesday, acknowledging that President Obama realized at a young age that he “could do more with his life.”

During an appearance on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” to promote her new cookbook, the First Lady was asked by host Jon Stewart about the president’s high school and college years. An excerpt released last week from David Maraniss’s forthcoming biography of the president contained details about Obama’s marijuana use as a teenager. Stewart joked that the stories about the president as a young man resembled the “script of a Cheech and Chong movie.”

While the First Lady didn’t directly address the claims in Maraniss’ book, she did say that her husband underwent a change during his college years.

“By the time he was in college, like so many young people, he realized that he could do more with his life,” Obama told Stewart. “He had a mother that was always saying you’re so gifted, you’re so talented, slap him on the head, ‘get yourself together.'”

She continued: “When he lost his father, that was one of those click-in moments. And he really buckled down, he transferred schools, went to Columbia, and thought about how to use his life to the fullest.”

Obama also commented on her relationship with Vice President Joe Biden, who Stewart joked was like an uncle who brings guns to family events. Read the rest of this entry »
