When North Korea put a satellite into orbit last month, it declared that the launch was an exercise of its “right to use space for peaceful purposes” and denounced criticism by the U.S. and others that it was carrying out a ballistic-missile test meant to threaten its neighbors. On Tuesday the U.N. Security Council voted unanimously to condemn the launch, which it said was banned under previous resolutions, and moved to strengthen existing sanctions. Today North Korea responded angrily to the Security Council’s move, declaring that it may soon carry out another nuclear test — the isolated totalitarian state’s third — a move its National Defense Commission said was aimed at the U.S. Read the rest of this entry »

Obama South Korea Visit: President Tours Tense Border Between South Korea And North Korea

I never think that the whole world is in my hand. Better I will try to know myself and only then I can make other happy. Without being myself how can other make happy? I can give others the same thing whatever I have:

SEOUL, South Korea — Warning North Korea from its doorstep, President Barack Obama said Pyongyang risks deepening its isolation in the international community if it proceeds with a planned long-range rocket launch.

“North Korea will achieve nothing by threats or provocations,” Obama said during a news conference Sunday in Seoul, South Korea, where he was to attend a nuclear security summit.

Obama spoke fresh off his first visit to the tense Demilitarized Zone, the heavily patrolled no-man’s land between North and South Korea, where he peered long and hard at the isolated North.

“It’s like you’re in a time warp,” Obama said. “It’s like you’re looking across 50 years into a country that has missed 40 years or 50 years of progress.” Read the rest of this entry »
