Britney Spears In Final Talks To Be New ‘X Factor’ Judge

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on March 9, 2012

Long after her “Mickey Mouse Club” days, is Britney Spears finally headed back to TV? The pop superstar is reportedly nearing a deal to become a new judge on Simon Cowell’s “The X Factor,” The Hollywood Reporter revealed.

According to a THR inside source, Spears’ fianceJason Trawick is negotiating the final contract, which could be signed as soon as next week.

In January, “The X Factor” axed judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones from the Fox singing competition series.

If Spears joins Cowell and the only other remaining judge, LA Reid at the judges’ table, that leaves one more seat to fill for Season 2 of the struggling singing competition. LeAnn Rimes is reportedly in talks to judge “The X Factor,” while Janet Jackson has officially declined her participation in the show.

Scherzinger recently told “Access Hollywood” that she was completely committed to the showduring Season 1. “Well, all I know is that I gave 110 percent to that show,” she said. “I know everybody’s talking about it. They’re saying good, bad, they love me or hate me, but the one thing you can’t say is that I didn’t give it my all.” Read the rest of this entry »

Cheryl Cole Is A Grecian Goddess At Royal Charity Bash, Denying ‘X Factor’ Return

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on February 24, 2012

Cheryl Cole is so rarely photographed these days that when new pics land on our desk, we do a little dance of excitement.

And isn’t this latest set an absolute visual treat for a Friday afternoon.

La Cole went all Grecian goddess on our asses as she turned up for the Prince’s Trust Invest In Futures dinner at the Savoy Hotel last night.

Wearing a white floor-length Greek-style dress, the former X Factor judge looked glowing at the bash hosted by the Prince of Wales.

The pair were deep in conversation as she arrived at the dinner, giving us the perfect opportunity to have a little caption competition on this picture – who knew Charles was such a comedian? Read the rest of this entry »

Cheryl Cole ‘To Return To The X Factor’

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on February 6, 2012

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole was sensationally dumped just days into the US version of The X Factorbut it seems the star could be set to make a triumphant return to the UK series after Simon Cowell kicked off a campaign to get her back on the judging panel.

According to a report, Kelly Rowland is facing the axe after her performance “faded” towards the end of the last series and Simon is thought to be more determined than ever to make a success of the show after hostSteve Jones and judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul were given the chop from the American arm of the franchise last week.

Cheryl and Simon’s relationship was rumoured to have been fraught after she was sacked from the television juggernaught but former Popstars The Rivals contestant made up with music impresario Simon after flying a congratulatory birthday banner past his 52nd birthday party. X’ed Out! Can Simon Cowell’s House Cleaning Save The X Factor?

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on January 31, 2012

By JAMES PONIEWOZIK

Call it Rachel Crow’s revenge. (Or, if you prefer, Drew Ryniewicz’s.) After a first season of decent but not blockbuster-sized ratings, reports came out Monday that Simon Cowell had pulled a triple elimination on The X Factor, firing judges Paula Abdul (again!) and Nicole Scherzinger as well as host Steve Jones. (Fox has officially announced the latter two departures, but multiple outlets are reporting Abdul’s ouster as well.)

Each of the defenestrated stars had their critics in the show’s first US season—from the get-go, I was put off by Jones’ chilly TV-presenter style, Scherzinger was a judge who seem to resist, well, judging, and while Paula got her American Idol incoherence under control, it felt like some of her on-air personality went with it. But really, are The X Factor’s problems ones that can be fixed with a personnel change, or do they go deeper? Read the rest of this entry »

Cheryl Cole Makes Tongue-In-Cheek Dig At Simon Cowell After Topping Judging Poll

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on January 20, 2012

No need to fight further more dear – work together:

We’ve not seen much of Cheryl Cole recently, so-much-so we were beginning to think she’d dropped off the face of the earth.

But Chez has reminded everyone she’s still very much around by making a tongue-in-cheek dig at old boss Simon Cowell.

Cheryl proved she’s obviously now able to laugh about the whole X Factor USA debacle as she joked about her short-lived judging stint on Twitter.

In a tweet to Simon, the singer posted a link to a Virgin Media TV Awards poll that showed her having been voted the Best Judge for her X Factor USA role.

@CherylCole  She said: “Oh my! And all in a couple days work, LOVE this @SimonCowell.”

“Oh my!” And all in a couple days work, LOVE this @SimonCowellhttp://t.co/VHWJWKjk http://t.co/Iln484yR

Who knew she had such a sense of humour?

The pair were rumoured to have recently made up, despite Cheryl turning down Simon’s offer of a role on Britain’s Got Talent.

But they’re both yet to follow each other on Twitter and we all know that being pals on the internet is the real testament of friendship…

stateside version of Simon Cowell‘s The X Factor just weeks into the filming of the new show.

Cole’s switch from the UK to the US version of The X Factor was the subject of months of tabloid speculation and was only confirmed by Cowell earlier this month.

She will now be replaced according to US showbiz gossip website TMZ, which reported that she was homesick and claims that there was a “lack of chemistry” with fellow X Factor judge Paula Abdul. There had also been concerns how American viewers would take to Cole’s Geordie accent.

Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, who had been lined up to present the US version of the talent show with Steve Jones, is favourite to replace Cole. Read the rest of this entry »

Cowell courts groups, maybe Abdul for `X Factor’

Posted by Ram Kumar Shrestha on February 8, 2011

LOS ANGELES, FEB 08 –

Simon Cowell wants his new Fox talent series “The X Factor” to include controversy, vocal groups and, maybe, Paula Abdul on the judging panel.

“We’ve spoken to her, she knows I’m a big fan,” Cowell said of his former fellow “American Idol” judge. “I’ve always said at some point we are going to be working together.”

But, he added, “I have to take everyone’s opinions into account,” including the show’s other producers and the network.

A decision about who will join Cowell on the four-member panel has yet to be made and won’t be announced for another month or so, he said during an interview and teleconference about “The X Factor.”

The show debuts this fall. Cowell exited Fox’s “American Idol” last season in part to focus on the new series, which has been a successful format in several countries since its debut in Britain in 2004. Abdul quit “Idol” in 2009 over a salary dispute. Read the rest of this entry »

host, former “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell, for publicly humiliating her.

Emma Czikai claims Cowell was responsible for broadcasting her audition clip, despite her writing to him explaining that health problems had affected her performance.

Pictures: Who Will Replace Cowell on “Idol”?

The 54-year-old said Thursday at a pre-hearing review in London that she brought the case to retain her “self-respect and dignity.” The review will determine whether a full employment tribunal can go ahead.

She says her performance of Westlife’s “You Raise Me Up” last year was affected by an ailment that caused painful swelling all over the body.

Britain’s The Sun newspaper reported that Czikai is seeking $3.8 million in the lawsuit.

Cowell left the “American Idol” judges’ table at the end of last season to launch an American version of his British reality show “The X Factor.”
